QWERTY Text Scapes investigates the dual nature of calligraphy as both a vehicle for communication and an autonomous visual art form. The project connects Eastern and Western calligraphic traditions to explore the intersection of language, perception, and memory. Each work layers painted text that is progressively built up and erased, creating textured, hieroglyphic-like surfaces. The gestural lines trace the physical movement of typing on a QWERTY keyboard, translating digital language into analogue mark-making. This process reinterprets the act of writing as a fusion of contemporary information transfer and ancient gesture. By merging textual meaning with expressive abstraction, the works invite viewers into a reflective space between comprehension and feeling.
